何をするものか
A format specification for describing a visual identity to coding agents. DESIGN.md gives agents a persistent, structured understanding of a design system.
YAML front matter に機械可読なトークン、その下の Markdown 散文に根拠を書きます。
Tokens give agents exact values. Prose tells them why those values exist and how to apply them.
トークンは Colors / Typography / Spacing / Rounded / Components の 5 区分。最低限 primary カラーパレットが必須です。
npm の @google/design.md に lint / diff / export / spec の CLI があります。
alpha であること
The DESIGN.md format is at version
alpha. The spec, token schema, and CLI are under active development. Expect changes to the format as it matures.
ライセンスは Apache-2.0。リポジトリの作成は 2026-04-10（GitHub API で確認）。
確認できていないこと
- AGENTS.md / CLAUDE.md との関係が仕様に書かれていない。 README はそれらに一切言及しておらず、単独の仕様として立っている
- 実在サイトを解析した DESIGN.md を配るサードパーティのカタログがあるが、一部が有料で中身を確認できないため、この図書館では出典にしていない
